We are pleased to announce our newest Director of Strategic Partnerships and Client Relations, Dr. Omar Torres. Dr. Torres will work with schools and collectives across the southeast region in his role at Grand River Solutions.
Managing Director Jody Shipper shares, “Omar brings a remarkable breadth of experience to our team, and we know he will use those talents to make sure we can best serve our clients’ needs.”
In his 20 years of higher education administrative experience, Dr. Torres has worked in various Student Affairs-related capacities such as case management, fraternity and sorority life, leadership development, residence life, student activities, student conduct, and wellness initiatives. He has actively participated and developed strategic planning and assessment initiatives at the department, division, and institution level.
Managing Director Dr. Cherie Scricca says, “Serving schools is our passion and learning from schools about what they need helps us to serve them better. We are thrilled that Omar has joined our team of professionals who share this passion and commitment to service.”
Over the course of his professional career, Dr. Torres has been an active member of several higher education professional organizations, including ACPA, NASPA, and the Association of Student Conduct Administration. Recently, Dr. Torres was invited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges as a peer reviewer. Dr. Torres is also an adjunct professor in CAU’s School of Education, primarily teaching courses and advising students enrolled in the Online Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program in Higher Education Leadership.
