Grand River Solutions, a leader in the Title IX and equity field, has announced the release of its new desktop and mobile app, Case Tracker. This ground-breaking software had been specifically designed for Title IX & equity work, and for student, staff and faculty cases alike, redefining expectations of how colleges and universities manage and track cases of harassment and discrimination. Back in 2014, after many years of consulting and working at public and private universities, Jody Shipper and Cherie Scricca, co-founders and managing directors at Grand River Solutions, created a nonprofit called Project IX to meet the needs of college Title IX and equity offices that were overwhelmed by shifting regulations and minimal budgets. Strategizing ways to reduce stress of the work and increase transparency for parties, Shipper outlined the concept of an app that gives step by step notifications like a pizza tracker for Title IX & equity cases. After Silicon Valley entrepreneurs Jerome Behar and Cassio Conceicao joined Shipper and Scricca with the goal to increase the scope of the work, Project IX evolved to become a pioneering Title IX and equity resource, Grand River Solutions. Developing Case Tracker to support the expansive suite of services offered by the company became a focused priority.

This is the first software that lets respondents and complainants track their own cases in real time. “Case Tracker updates the parties as their case progresses, with an ability to one-click into a private portal to check status and read important messages and relevant documents, anytime, day or night,” said Joseph Storch, Senior Director of Compliance and Innovation Solutions. “I’m so proud that we are finally bringing forward the software solution we’ve all been waiting for, and providing our students, faculty, and staff involved in these cases the transparency they deserve.”

Jody Shipper added, “As someone who has been an equity officer and Title IX Coordinator, I’m particularly excited that Case Tracker enables parties to have direct access to their case status, and they can choose when and how often to receive notifications; this means that administrators can focus on the tasks of moving the work forward, knowing that status updates are happening automatically.” Plus, the parties are able to choose notification preferences for their advisors and can upload files, evidence, and send messages directly on the platform.

Case Tracker offers a streamlined and targeted process for Title IX and Equity professionals with an integrative system that works for students, faculty, and staff, where the stakeholders, according to their access level, can track, manage, share files, and also correspond within the software. The federal and state laws and regulations covering response to discrimination, including Title IX, Title VII, and varied state approaches, plus the specific policies and procedures of each institution, will be programmed right into the suite, meaning that the guesswork and cross-checking previously required will be eliminated.  Case Tracker does more than manage, it truly tracks the cases, giving staff members notice of customized steps and deadlines. Entire cases can be securely and swiftly transferred to other administrators or colleagues, so no case matter is dropped during times of employee absence or turn-around.

Not only does the private portal allow the parties 24-hour access to their cases, but also administrators who are away from their offices can quickly attend to business through the mobile app, and colleagues in other offices can retrieve files according to their access level, all via desktop, tablet, or phone. Administrators will be able to swiftly and easily respond to timely or emergency requests when needed, without having to run back to their computers or worry about missing any pertinent data.

Key features of Case Tracker include:

  1. Integrative Workflow: Manages cases for students, faculty, and staff. Allows the parties to track, manage, correspond, and share files, including evidence, all within the system.
  2. Scalability: Supports all size institutions from small colleges to large university systems to easily manage their caseloads, monitor team performance, pull data and reports, and communicate with team members and the parties, without leaving the platform.
  3. Real-time Updates: Fosters seamless collaboration among team members and provides deadline and status updates to the parties, per each party’s communication and access settings.
  4. Industry Best Practice: Case Tracker lets colleagues transfer and share cases and corresponding files with security and ease. The software is tested and certified by industry security experts employing measures to safeguard sensitive information to give users peace of mind.
  5. User-Friendly Interface: Case Tracker is designed specifically for Title IX and Equity offices, offering an intuitive interface that minimizes learning curves, and helps new users take over cases and adopt policies and procedures more easily.

“We are excited to introduce Case Tracker to the community,” said Cherie Scricca. “Case Tracker is more than just software; it’s a game-changer for Title IX and Equity professionals seeking to lower the stress of the job, support agency for the parties, and ensure consistency in the quality of their services and caseloads.”
