Understanding the Role of the Title IX Advisor

The Title IX Advisor Training provides those serving as advisors in the Title IX process with an overview of their role from investigation to the hearing.  Title IX involves particular procedural steps that are not always easy to understand, but are essential to know in order to effectively serve as an advisor.

Participants will be provided with an overview of the process and their specific role, along with tips, skills, and techniques for completing the responsibilities of an Advisor.

This Training will cover:

 

  • An overview of the procedural requirements of the Title IX process most relevant to the Advisor role
  • Pre-hearing preparation tasks, including issue identification and tips for preparing questions
  • Tips and an overview of techniques for questioning during a hearing
  • The role of the hearing advisor and tips on how to discuss the Title IX process with an advisee
